Maki

Hi, I’m Maki, a 2-year-old, 58-lb professional sidekick with a passion for running, belly rubs, and being exactly where you are at all times. Bathroom break? I’m in. Laundry? I supervise. Sit down for one second? Belly rubs are now required. I am a Shepherd mix with the looks of a Lab and maybe the nose of a doberman!

I’m potty trained (you’re welcome), but I’m still anti-crate life—think free-range dog, not storage unit. I behave in the house when left alone. On walks, I do pull on the leash because I’m very excited about everything and occasionally forget I’m not a sled dog. However, I am manageable for sure. With the right gear, I will be a more controlled walker. I also love to venture out so if you are active and want to go... I will go with you! It's just fun to see the world. If you are looking for a homebody, I am that too but I won't be happy just staying within the four walls all the time.

I get along great with other dogs once we do a polite introduction (I prefer to make friends thoughtfully, not dramatically). I spend most of my time around smaller dogs but have interacted just fine with dogs my size too. As you can see, I let those little dogs walk all over me! I love kids, adore people, and am friendly with literally everyone—strangers are just friends I haven’t been pet by yet. We are unsure on cats!
