Tonka

My name is Tonka. I am 1.5 years old and 60 lbs. I am a Retriever mix with a touch of what could be Spaniel, Pyrenees or Aussie. I am a gentle and kind creature. I am an old soul who falls in love with his people and appreciates every pet and hug I receive. I have not had the luxury of living inside a home for most of my life. I was cared for, fed and loved but the comforts of a couch and climate control were not my everyday. I have discovered the absolute joys of cool hardwood floors, couch cushions, area rugs, and kitchens. The best thing of all is lying next to my humans every chance I get. While my foster mom works, I enjoy being at her feet. I am affectionate while still being independent. I am medium energy. I am great with every dog; puppies and adults. I could live alone or with another kind dog or cat. I am also so good with cats. I am a submissive fellow and if a dog wants to take the lead, that's fine with me. I know basic commands such as sit, paw, off, lay and come. I am housebroken and crate trained but honestly, I am not sure I even need that crate. A person or family would be lucky to have me in their life. I am located in NJ!
